Face Mask Policy Update June 2022 Posted on 14 Jun 2022

Further to national guidance regarding the wearing of face masks within healthcare settings, patients who enter GP practices in England are no longer required to wear a face mask unless they have respiratory symptoms.

Updated guidance states

Ø Patients with respiratory symptoms who are required to attend for a consultation or emergency treatment should wear a facemask/covering, if tolerated.

Ø All other patients are not required to wear a facemask unless this is a personal preference.

Please note – as with patient’s choice to wear/not wear a facemask, this also applies to clinical staff during a consultation.
